Sylvi is interested in pursuing marketing in college possibly, and believes that this internship will be a great experience to further develop her resume, applications, and overall get a feel of what a career in marketing would be like in her future.

Marketing and Social Media Intern with Rainy Day

Ayanna just graduated from Champlain College and wanted to get some more experience to put on her resume. She worked in marketing while in school and enjoys all the different channels and places that it comes into play. She also loves storytelling and marketing is just another avenue of that, whether it’s through social media, press releases, or ads. Ayanna is also participating in an internship with the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society.

Intern with CONNECT to End Violence

Arianna is a student at the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, entering her senior year. She is looking to go to college to study psychology, athropology or Latin upon graduation, then enter a career in counseling or the general psychology field. She has had the opportunity to work with the school programs that CONNECT runs at MVRHS, which inspired her to seek out an internship with them. Arianna is passionate about empowering women in our community and promoting mental health. She is excited to learn about communications and the creativity needed to plan everything out.

Ainsley is a rising senior studying telecommunications at Penn State University. She is also getting a minor in digital media trends and analytics! Ainsley is interested in a lot of careers from public relations to consulting and even commercial real estate! She would like to do work that involves problem-solving as well as creative thinking. Through this internship Ainsley would like to build up her confidence as a young professional, applying the knowledge she has learned in school.

Olivia is a rising senior at the University of Edinburgh, studying Italian and Sustainable Development. She is excited to work with Island Eats, where she has the opportunity to do meaningful work for the environment and the Island community while also developing skills in marketing. She is passionate about sustainable development, and feels very passionate about climate work. Olivia is exploring work in marketing and how she can connect those two interests.

Jessica is a young professional exploring her environmental career options because this field excites her the most! After taking some time off after college and working in restaurants she has realized now that she needs a career shift and want to pursue her passions for environmental sustainability! Jessica graduated from UMass Amherst in 2020 with her MS in Plant and Soil Sciences. She also attended UMass for her undergraduate studies and completed a dual-degree BS in Environmental Science and Chemical Engineering. She is most excited about helping Island Eats operate and expand their sustainable mission of reducing trash from take out containers on our beautiful island.

Kiera is a rising senior at the College of Charleston, studying communications with a minor in studio art and film studies. Kiera is most excited to be expanding her professional development on the Island surrounded with creative people, as well as developing her skills in photography and social media marketing.

Maria is a rising sophomore at UMass Amherst studying Environmental Science. She is a young professional looking to learn more about the different sides to environmentalism and sustainability. She also hope to learn more about her passion for creating and fashion. Maria hopes to learn more about the fashion world and how sustainable practices in this industry can support the environment.

Reece is a rising senior at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Communications Arts with a minor in Creative Writing. Through this internship Reese is expanding their skills in event planning and graphic design, while getting more clarity on career goals. Reese has enjoyed working alongside the First Friday team, as well as other Island businesses that participate in First Friday VH.

Isabella is a rising senior studying at Sacred Heart University majoring in business management and minoring in entrepreneurship and innovation. She is interested in one day running her own business and through this internship she has the opportunity to learn from managers to better understand the behind the scenes operations of business management. She has enjoyed getting to meet customers of all walks of life.

Hope is a rising senior at MVRHS, with an interest in pursuing studies in marketing, graphic design and Spanish. On the side, Hope runs a small art business designing and selling stickers. Through this internship she is exploring the role of being an artist and growing young professional in the business world. So far, this internship has encouraged Hope to continue chasing her dreams of putting art and business together, while gaining the practical experience and skills needed.
