Community Outreach & Admin Internship
Are you interested in learning about the local tourism industry? Passionate about making connections in the small business community? Skilled at administrative tasks?
The Edgartown Board of Trade (EBT) is seeking a part-time summer intern to assist the Executive Director with seasonal events, initiatives and organizational projects. Projects and annual initiatives that the intern will help with include art and cultural events, municipal advocacy and grant implementation, marketing and tourism. While working with the executive director, the intern will have access to the Board of Directors, with opportunities to make connections across Edgartown's business community. This opportunity will showcase the intrinsic relationships between a town, its small business community, and the seasonal tourism that is so important to the island's seasonal economy.

The Edgartown Board of Trade, also known as Visit Edgartown, is the principal voice for business and tourism in the Town of Edgartown. It is dedicated to fostering an economic climate that enhances and improves the quality of life in the community, and it works to accomplish these tasks while protecting the historic character of the town, the natural beauty and its sense of community.
Details
Start Date: Flexible
Hours: 8-10 hours/week | hours mostly flexible with some set meeting and event times (preferred availability on Tuesdays)
Duration: Flexible with the opportunity for extension for the right candidate
Opportunity Open to: High School Students, College Students
Duties + Responsibilities
Administrative projects through Google Sheets, Docs, and other databases done remotely
In-person meetings and follow up project tasks
Event related tasks, including some pre-planning, deliveries, correspondence and other projects
Aiding the marketing manager with needed content, image collection, social media assistance
Skills + Experience
Required skills:
Basic computer skills, including Dropbox, Google Sheets, Docs, etc
Self motivated with strong time organizational skills
Strong communication skills, with outgoing demeanor
Bonus points for:
Experience with Canva, Vistaprint, Squarespace, and other digital and visual applications
The ideal candidate is:

Has past experience with administrative tasks
Is able to work remotely and learn new about new data platforms
Compensation
Compensation: $22/hour

By the end of the internship, the participant will:

CAMP! Internship Program Requirements
BootCAMP!
CAMP! interns are required to participate in BootCAMP–a weekend of in-person professional development workshops. Topics covered include professionalism, goal setting, skill development, financial wellness, and preparing a professional profile.
Upon completion, interns will receive a certificate of completion. Exemptions may be permitted under exceptional circumstances.
When: Saturday + Sunday | June 21 + 22, 2025
Location: In-person at Slough Farm in Edgartown, MA.

Mandatory check-ins
Throughout the program, interns will participate in check-ins with the CAMP team.
This includes an initial onboarding meeting at the beginning of the internship program, a group coaching session, and an end of program check in.
During check-ins, interns will reflect on their personal and professional goals and accomplishments relating to their internship experience.
