Cultural Event Planning Internship

Do you have a love for local art and culture? Are you interested in event planning?  Enjoy meeting new people and working with a team?

First Friday VH is looking for a cultural event planning and operations intern to join their team! The intern will have the opportunity to see what goes into planning a large event on Martha’s Vineyard, and the experience to discover if this is something they’d like to further pursue. The intern will work closely with the general coordinator and social media/marketing consultant receiving close mentorship and learning the behind-the-scenes steps that go into organizing and promoting a large event.

First Friday VH organizes free community-inspired outdoor events in Vineyard Haven. Started in 2016 and based on the nation-wide "First Friday" art walks, each event celebrates the local art and culture of our island through music, art, and food each first Friday of the month June - October.

The intern will learn networking skills, gain experience marketing/organizing a monthly event, learn to work with local organizations and town officials, and create and share event promotions. On event days the intern will assist on site, working closely with the First Friday team and vendors, while capturing content throughout the event.
